Who We Are

Certification by the American Board of Functional Medicine(ABFM) stands for the highest standard in functional medicine. Doctors who achieve this status have demonstrated to their peers and to the public that they have the excelled clinical judgment, skills and attitudes essential for the delivery of excellent natural patient care.

The ABFM is not membership based club or society, the ABFM is an independent evaluation organization. The ABFM ensures that doctors who have earned the title Diplomate of the American Board of Functional Medicine (DABFM) have met or exceeded the requirements set forth by the Board. The ABFM holds itself accountable to the profession of functional medicine, to the patients they serve. and to the public.

• ABFM serves to certify physicians all over the United States
• ABFM certification is open to all practicing healthcare physicians

• ABFM also offer certifications that are open to non-physicians or staff. These programs become available on June1, 2009 and include:

  Certified Clinical Nutritionist (CN-C)
  

  Certificate in Nutrition Health & Wellness (NHW-C)

• Certified in Functional Lab Interpretation I (FLI-C)
  

  Certified in Functional Lab Interpretation II (FLI-C)
  

  Certification in Natural Hormone Replacement (NHR-C)
