ABFM Diplomates

This Certification demonstrates that a physician in the area of functional medicine has met rigorous standards through intensive study, self-assessment and comprehensive evaluation. Becoming certified as a Diplomate (DABFM) allows the public and our fellow healthcare practitioners to make better referrals based on our expertise..

Upon passing the Board examination, Diplomates will receive an active certification for 2 years. To remain active, Diplomates will need to complete 20 continuing education hours every 2 years. The Renewing Certification section will cover this requirement in further detail.
